ServicesStorage Unit Cleanouts
Storage Unit Cleanouts in College Park
When the monthly rent on a storage unit outlasts its purpose, we come to the facility, take down the stacks with care, load everything onto our truck and leave the unit swept and ready to hand back. You can be there or stay home.

Closing out a unit you no longer need
A storage unit fills up slowly and empties all at once. Boxes go in over years, furniture gets wedged behind them and the heaviest pieces end up at the back. By the time you decide to give it up, the unit is packed floor to ceiling and the move-out date is close.
Our storage unit cleanouts start with the stack itself. Cardboard that has sat through several humid summers softens and gives way, so we take the load down from the top, one layer at a time, rather than pulling from the bottom. Heavy dressers, appliances and safes come out on dollies with two people on every lift.
You decide what stays. Anything you want to keep we set aside or load into your vehicle, and the rest goes onto our truck. Items in good condition are donated where we can, metals and cardboard are recycled, and only what is left goes to disposal.
What we do in a storage unit cleanout
Stacks taken down safely
We start at the top and keep the aisle clear, so nothing falls on whoever is working underneath.
The heavy, awkward pieces
Two people move sleeper sofas, treadmills, chest freezers and old safes on strapped dollies. Corners get padding so the door frame and roll-up track stay undamaged.
Checking with you while we work
We pause to ask about loose papers, photos and anything that seems personal. A box labeled trash can turn out to hold a deed or a family album.
Donating and recycling
Furniture and household goods that still have use are pulled out for donation. Cardboard, metal and appliances are recycled instead of going right to the landfill.
Swept and ready to return
After the last load, we sweep and clear any loose debris, so the facility has no reason to add a cleaning fee to your final bill.

Signs it is time to clear the unit
- You pay rent on things you do not use
- If you have not opened the door in a year, the monthly fee may now cost more than the contents are worth.
- The boxes are sagging
- Bowed or crushed cartons at the bottom of a stack mean the load is shifting. That is when stacks fall, and it is safer to have them taken down by people who expect it.
- Musty smell or pests
- Mildew on cardboard, droppings or chewed fabric tell you the contents are deteriorating. We wear gloves and masks and bag affected items before they are carried out.
- A move-out deadline
- An estate settlement, a move or a rent increase can leave you with a fixed date. Same-day and next-day service available, depending on the schedule.
What cleanout day looks like
- 1
Call for a quote
Share the unit size, about how full it is and which facility it is at. We can price it over the phone, or come for a free on-site estimate with no obligation if you want us to see it.
- 2
We meet at the facility
We follow the facility's access hours and loading rules. If you won't be there, we set up gate access with you beforehand.
- 3
Careful unloading
The crew opens a clear route to the truck, works the stacks down from the top and asks you before loading anything that looks personal.
- 4
Load, sweep and return the unit
With the truck full, we sweep the unit and either walk through it with you or send you photos, so you can end the rental knowing it is ready.
How the price is worked out
A storage unit cleanout is priced on the truck space your things fill and the work it takes to move them safely. Pricing is upfront with no hidden fees, and the figure we settle on is what you pay.
- Size of the unit and how full it is
- Half of a 5x10 and a crammed 10x30 are nothing alike. The amount of stuff matters most.
- Big or heavy items
- Safes, pianos, appliances and solid wood pieces need extra hands and extra time to move without anyone getting hurt.
- How easy the unit is to reach
- A drive-up unit on the ground floor goes faster than an inside or upstairs unit reached by freight elevator and a long hall.
- State of what is inside
- Things damaged by water, mold or pests have to be bagged and handled with more care before they go on the truck.
Questions about storage unit cleanouts
- Do I have to be at the storage facility?
- No, and many customers stay home. We set up gate access with you beforehand, keep you posted by phone while we work and text photos of the cleared, swept unit at the end.
- Can I keep some items and have you haul the rest?
- Removal is our focus, but we are happy to put the things you are keeping into your own vehicle right at the facility. Let us know on the call so we can plan what comes out first.
- Is anything off limits?
- Fuel, propane tanks, solvents and some paints count as hazardous and need special handling, and most facilities do not allow them anyway. If we come across any, we put them to one side and go over your options with you.
- What if I realize later that I needed something?
- That is the reason we check with you before loading papers, photos and keepsakes. Any box you want to look through yourself gets set aside rather than going on the truck.
- How long will the cleanout take?
- Small units are usually finished in less than an hour. A big, packed unit full of heavy furniture can run a few hours, and we give you a realistic time along with the quote.
