Appliance Removal in College Park

We take out old refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers, ranges and water heaters from your home. Our crew protects your floors and door frames, moves heavy units with the right equipment, and sends the metal and refrigerant where they belong. You never have to lift a thing.

Big, heavy appliances taken out with care

Many refrigerators top 250 pounds, with the weight riding high and to one side. Washers keep water trapped in the drum and hoses. So when people tackle the job with a friend and a borrowed dolly, it often ends with scratched hardwood, a dented wall at the stair landing or a hurt back.

Every carry is planned before the lift. We check the route from the appliance to the truck, measure the narrow spots, put down floor protection and strap the unit to a dolly made for appliances. Every full-size unit gets two people.

Call us when a new appliance is on its way and the old one needs to leave, when a unit quits in the basement or garage, or when a whole house is being emptied. If the appliance is one piece of a larger cleanout, our junk removal and garage cleanouts crews can clear it all on one visit.

What appliance removal includes

  1. 01

    Fridges and freezers

Kitchen refrigerators, chest and garage freezers, and mini fridges. They stay upright, and we treat the coils gently so no refrigerant line gets punctured during the carry.

  2. 02

    Washing machines and dryers

Supply valves get closed, hoses get drained into a bucket and capped, and your floor stays dry. If you want the dryer vent duct gone too, it leaves with the unit.

  3. 03

    Ovens, ranges and dishwashers

We unplug electric ranges and slide them out on protective pads. Gas ranges and gas dryers need the gas line shut off and capped by a plumber or the gas company before our visit. Our crew never cuts or disconnects gas lines.

  4. 04

Water heaters and window air conditioners

We drain and disconnect old tank water heaters only after the supply is safely off. Window and portable AC units leave upright so the sealed system is not damaged.

  5. 05

    Proper recycling

Units go to scrap metal recyclers and to facilities that pull out the refrigerant before the metal is processed. Hardly any of it goes to a landfill.

Signs it is time to have an appliance hauled away

  • A new unit is on the way

Not every delivery includes haul-away, and some charge extra or only take the old unit from the same spot. We can clear the space before the new one arrives.

  • It has stopped working and repair is not worth it

A fridge that will not hold temperature or a washer with a failed transmission often costs more to fix than to replace.

  • A spare fridge is running in the garage

An old second refrigerator in a hot Georgia garage works hard all summer. If you barely use it, removing it frees up floor space.

  • It is stuck somewhere hard to reach

A dead freezer in a basement or a washer on an upper floor is exactly the kind of carry where people get hurt. That is the job to hand off.

  • You are leaving a house

Moving, selling or settling an estate usually means appliances that will not make the trip. We can take them along with anything else from basement cleanouts or furniture removal.

What the visit looks like

  1. 1

    Start with a phone call

Let us know the type of appliance, where it is and what the route out is like, and we will quote it during the call. If you want us to look first, our on-site estimates are free and carry no obligation.

  2. 2

    Get the hookups ready

We point out anything a professional should handle beforehand, which is mostly gas lines. Clearing out a fridge or freezer ahead of time also makes the carry lighter and tidier.

  3. 3

    Cover, unhook and move

Runners go on the floors and pads on door frames and corners. We shut off water and power, strap the unit to the dolly and bring it down stairs a step at a time with two people controlling it.

  4. 4

    Sweep up and recycle

We sweep the space under where the appliance stood, which tends to be dustier than people think. The unit then goes to the recycler that handles its kind.

What changes the price

Our pricing is upfront with no hidden fees, so the figure we give you is the figure you pay. It is based on what we are hauling and how much work the carry involves. These are the factors.

How many appliances, and how big
A single compact unit is a short stop. A side-by-side refrigerator with a washer and dryer needs more room on the truck and more crew time.
Where it sits and how it gets out
An appliance next to the garage door is easy. Upper floors, basements, narrow stairs and sharp turns take more time and more care.
Units with refrigerant
Refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners have to go to facilities that recover refrigerant, and that can change the disposal cost.
Extra items on one visit
Putting furniture or other junk on the same visit usually costs less than scheduling separate pickups.

Appliance removal questions

Do I need to empty my refrigerator first?

Yes, please remove the food and let any ice melt if you can. A full fridge is heavier and harder to keep upright, and spoiled food can leak during the carry. We take care of the rest.

Will you disconnect my gas dryer or range?

No. For your safety, we ask that a plumber or your gas company shut off and cap the gas line before we arrive. Once that is done, we move the appliance out without touching the gas supply.

Can you take an appliance that is still working?

Yes. Working units are worth mentioning on the call, since some can be passed along for reuse instead of going straight to scrap. Either way, we remove it from your home.

Will moving a heavy fridge damage my floors?

We lay down floor protection along the full path and use a dolly with straps, so the weight never drags on your floors. Door frames and wall corners get padded where the turn is tight.

Do you serve areas outside College Park?

Yes. We also work in East Point, Hapeville, Forest Park, Union City and other nearby communities. Our Service Areas page lists the full range.
